ICAR-IDF Wiki guidelines: Sensor based behaviour information for functional traits with focus on rumination

The joint ICAR–IDF Sensor Initiative has developed a set of technical articles published on the ICAR Wiki addressing the use of sensor data in dairy cattle systems.
This guideline provides harmonised definitions, data processing recommendations and standards for the collection, analysis and use of sensor-based behavioural data—focusing initially on rumination—to support improved animal health, welfare, and genetic evaluation in dairy systems.
The guidelines are designed as living documents and will continue to be updated as new knowledge, technologies, and validation approaches evolve.
