Publication description
This paper summarizes the current knowledge of bovine mammary gland immunity, describes the major factors affecting the immune system and shows potential approaches currently available to modulate immune defences of the udder. Its point of depart is the IDF’s amended classification of the immunological components of the mammary gland. It is the combination of the position papers presented at the IDF Seminar on Mammary Gland Immune Defences in Stresa on 11-14 June 2000 together with the contributions of the participants.
