The International Symposium, jointly organized by FAO, FEPALE and IDF on the prospects for dairying in the new WTO Round of negotiations (The ''Millennium'' Round) was intended to provide a platform for the presentation of the views of the major players in international trade in dairy products. The papers presented here deal mainly with aspects of trade policy and its consequences, but refer nevertheless to the legislation and product standards of the WTO's Agreement on Agriculture in the Uruguay Round (Sanitary and Phytosanitary Agreement and Technical Barriers to Trade Agreement).
